Five awards were presented at the 2017 Wigtown Food Festival.  Three were based on the decision of independent judges, the People's Choice and the Annual Food Festival challenge was selected by the public over the two days.

The Wigtown Food Festival serves up an annual feast of fantastic food and drink in a friendly atmosphere, amid the breath taking landscapes of south west Scotland. This tasty event takes place on the fourth weekend in July and is organised by a small team of volunteers. Funds are limited and we are delighted to be holding a quiz to help raise funds on the 24th March2017.

Please join us at the Quiz Night in aid of the festival at The Masonic Lodge, Agnew Crescent, Wigtown. Quiz starts at 20:00

The third Wigtown and Bladnoch Food Festival opens with a gin tasting hosted by Gin Club Scotland!

This event is kindly sponsored by William Loch Foodstores, who proudly stock the biggest selection of Craft Gins in Wigtownshire!

You'll start by creating your own 'perfect serve' G&T with your own choice of garnish - then we will sample five more gins from our selection of 100 gins from Scotland, the rest of the UK, Europe and the US. We will nose botanicals to match each of the gins - all with different flavour profiles - and you might find you prefer fruity, savoury, sweet or grainy gin! At the end, we will get you to tell us which ones you like best and give you your own personal gin report with recommendations for gins best suited to you.

During the Wigtown & Bladnoch Food Festival visitors were asked to complete a brief Visitor Information profile.  This would help us understand our visitors and plan for next year's event.

We are very pleased to have announce four fantastic talks in the 'Supper Room' in the County Building, on the Saturday of the Wigtown and Bladnoch Food Festival. All these talks are free, we just ask you to turn up at least ten minutes before the start but please don't be disappointed if the room is full.

We are pleased to announce the release of tickets for the Chef Demonstrations on Sunday 24 May; part of the Wigtown & Bladnoch Food Festival.

Throughout the day four talented chefs will each spend around one hour creating mouthwatering recipes, using a variety of ingredients available from the Food Festival.  These recipes will also feature in a book to accompany the event.


We are delighted to announce that award winning chef Mark Greenaway has agreed to complete the lineup at the Wigtown & Bladnoch Food Festival cookery demonstrations .  With a passion for Scottish ingredients, Mark uses only the very best local, seasonal produce, transforming them with modern techniques.
